I recently managed to get my hands on this model, mainly because its price was preferable to one of the newer picture-messaging phones. I think the initial impression of this mobile is a large, cumbersome late 1990's handset, but once you open the flip you will draw gasps of envy from onlookers. The huge touchscreen is definitely one of the first things that will tempt you to buy, and strangely the novelty never wears off. As soon as I got the phone I naturally lost the small plasticky stylus, and as there do not seem to be any spares anywhere I have had to resort to using my finger or a pointed object. The large screen makes wap a joy to use, everything being very clear and not as much time being devoted to scrolling down long pages of text. The address book or 'contents list' is also a fantastically honed system. Adding details with handwriting recognition or a by a virtual keyboard is blindingly fast and letter tabs let you get to that emergency phone number quickly. The phone also includes a fun but pointless little application which allows you to create and save doodles. Its not all good news though, as there are only two games, one being tetris and the other Reversi, a strange, non-addictive game where you have to make lines of dots to outwit the CPU. Most of the features you reach via the 'open screen' position are also available with the flip closed. Throw in the ringtone composer, email compatability and large calculator and you have a very desirable handset, perfect for the modern executive wanting to show off. |
