Ok,its not in colour, its not so small anymore, but the 3330 is a great phone.Like all Nokias,it easy to use, fairly new,so no bulky aerial, and has a decent array of features. But its selling point is its price. For someone who just wants a decent phone, and who isnt too fussed about a colour screen,or polyphonic tones..the 3330 is for you. |

Nokia's were in fact made for idiots! They are the most uncomplicated phones ever made and for those 'heavy handed' people totally indestructible! My immortal Nokia 3330 has had its fair share of adventures, probably more so than some people! You could describe as a cat with 9 lives...it has taken a leisurely swim in hot coffee, fallen from numerous different heights, taken part in football, netball, basketball and hockey games and still it remains in perfect working order!!! So if you are slightly ham-fisted I advise you to buy a Nokia 3330 - guaranteed to endure whatever pastime takes your fancy, although I probably wouldn't recommend taking it deep sea diving - then you would need to buy a new phone! I only have one argument against the impermeable Nokia 3330 and that is the weight of it - it weighs a tonne! If you were in the Italian Mafia, why attach the token concrete slabs to your victim's feet, when you could attach the one, the only.....Nokia 3330 and low and behold they're sure to 'swim with the fisheys' Otherwise, as far as a mobile goes, it does exactly what it says in the boring handbook (aka the Nokia holy grail) - texts, rings, etc, etc..However, because this phone is so basic in its layout, structure and function, there is no need to put in a 50 page booklet explaining how to turn it on - even my Gran figured out how to work it in 5 minutes - so somebody please tell 'Mr Nokia' that he'd save a hell of a lot of money by excluding the handbook from the phone!! See now that would make everyone happier :) As I have said before if you are looking for an imperishable phone then the Nokia 3330 is for you! Thanks for reading |

Hi there.. I have a Nokia 3330 which I have now used for two years. I have NEVER had any problems in all this time. Previous mobiles have also been Nokia, which have also been trouble free. In this family we have a total of 6 mobiles, all Nokia. The main reason we use Nokia is because we find them very user friendly and trouble free. To this point and time, I still can not find fault with my 3330, or for that matter, any of our Nokia phones. Being in New Zealand, we are on the Vodafone prepay plan. This was choosen because of it ease of use with the Nokia. I would love to give my existing 3330 to my daughter, and then certainly would love to buy a later model Nokia. Regards Rex Siebert |

If you're like me and enjoy the simple things in life, then the very compact and eye-catching Nokia 3330 is the phone for you. One of the first significant things you notice, is the fact it's almost identical, to the 3310, except it has a few pointless extras! It's Jam-Packed full of exciting features, and so easy to use, that even a two year old could work it! I must admit, I did become slightly obsessed with the image of my phone. I must have bought about 5 Xpress-on covers! But who can blame me? There is a very wide range of different and vibrant covers on the market. I haven't bought any new ones for a while though because, in the words of my parents, I had to "Stop buying those bloomin' phone covers!" I've had my 3330 for just over a year now, and it's been OK, but not the best phone in the world. It has it's faults. For a start, about 5 months after I got it, 'Snake II' suddenly stopped working. (I think i'd over played it!!!) Even now it doesn't work. I took it back to the shop I bought it from but they were not very helpful. The other games on the phone are good though. I love 'Bumper' and 'Space Impact'. (even though i'm absolutely terrible at them!!!) One of the many brilliant features on the 3330, is the amazing 'T9' pedictive text. It's a lot easier than pressing every single key! It's a very clever phone! Something else about the phone I love, is the way you can personalise the phone with ringtones and operator logos. It's Nokia's trademark! I'm always changing my logo and ringtone! However, another fault it has is the WAP. I've constantly been watching the screen waiting for the WAP service to load but it just seems to connect and take money off my balance, even though i'm not using the service. To be honest, looking back, i wish i'd got it's older sibling, the 3310. But being a typical teenager, "I Had to have the best", with all the extras, such as the useless WAP. My friend got the 3310 on the same day as me, and she has had no problems with her phone. Somehow, I feel slightly unlucky. However, if you balance the bad faults with the fab features, then all in all this is a very easy to use small, lightweight phone, that is handy and it's there when you need it. I'm sure the faults on my phone are just on my handset, so i'd definately recommend anyone who is looking for a decent, popular phone, to get a 3330 because it ROCKS!!! |

Where to start with the Nokia 3330. It looks like the 3310. Well, it is pretty much the same phone, except it's WAP enabled. It's got all the usual Nokia features, including a few games, multiple ringtones, which can be composed or downloaded. On the face of it, it's not a bad phone. What about when you've been using one for almost a year? Well, it doesn't seem to be the great fun phone I thought it would be. The main problem I have discovered is with WAP internet access. It constantly freezes, usually meaning the battery has to be removed (as the phone is still connected to the wireless internet!). I have also discovered, that after a few months, my phone began to freeze on trying to access my WAP bookmarks. Now I don't even bother trying! Another problem I have discovered, is the rapid reduction in the stand-by time of the battery. I now find myself having to charge my 3330 every day. On the plus side, however, it does have a few good games. Space Impact I found particularly addictive, as well as Bumper (although I'm no good at either!). Snake has been improved since the "square" snake of the 3210 in "Snake II", with mazes a plenty. I have found the voice dial quite a useful tool when using my hands free kit, however, it often struggles to recognise the voice tags. There was also a period when voice dial wouldn't work at all, and simply froze as it does with the WAP bookmarks. All these little problems were sorted out when my 3330 died on me altogether in the summer (2002), but thankfully it was under warranty and was sent back to Nokia for repair, which turned out to be a software upgrade. However, since then, it has started to go, let's say, a bit loopy. There are loads of other features, which, when the phone's working properly, can be quite fun or useul. For example, the reminders are useful to help remember people's birthday's etc, and the sms chat facility can help shorten the waiting time for responses when you're having a text conversation. I've always loved the ringtone composer. Means there's an endless number of ringtones that can be used. However, with the new hi-fi and polyphonic ringtones, as well as all the recordable ones on newer phones, it make the 3330 look a bit obsolete. Staying on the subject of ringtones, one of the handiest features I've discovered, is the "assign ringtone" option in the "phone book" menu. This means each entry in your phone book (provided you have less than 43) can have a different ringtone, to identify the caller when you can't see the screen. However, I have found that I generally use the custom ringtones rather than the presets, as most of them are quite irritating. On the whole, it could have been a good phone. It falls down where it's software is concerned (and mine still does despite an upgrade!) I have to say, that my old (now brick-like) Nokia 3210, had similar software problems, as it also had a freezing fetish. It's been enough put me off Nokia's. My next phone will not be a Nokia. |

The Nokia 3330 can be easily mistaken for its other famous slightly less capable sibling, the 3310. Fortunately for the consumer, both their bland exteriors can be jazzed up with a selection of cool, fine looking Nokia Xpress-on covers. This is a really good feature because the Nokia 3330 is really a phone for the young at heart, college going types. The cue for this assumption lies in the pre-defined emoticon (smiley) faces, multiple recipients and an SMS "chat" capability. The latter is simply a feature that keeps messages from both parties on screen during the "chat" (a la Yahoo! Messenger) so that you get a sort of running conversation and won't forget what had just transpired during the ongoing chat. To review the mobile, it would be worthwhile to compare it with the 3310 and understand the differences (or similarities) between the Nokia 3330 and its earlier sibling, the 3310. So what's the big difference? For starters, there's no blue backlight here, just a generic green light. But there are certainly more features packed into the 3330. These include a WAP 1.1 browser, a new game called Bumper, animated screensavers, improved chat function, and a vibrate-then-ring option. The 3330 is also able to store an additional 100 names in its internal phonebook. The 3330 feels just about right in the hand. It is not small like the expensive high-end phones where it's much harder to get a good grip on the case. The handset, also, surprisingly doesn't come with an anchor point for a lanyard. Maybe because it is not meant to be worn around the neck. Anyway, it tips the scales at 133g, about the same weight as the 3310. Navigating the phone's menu is easy as is expected of all Nokia handsets. For those who prefer to look up functions in the user's manual, the instructions are clear and the index sufficiently comprehensive to make searching for information easy. For the gamers, Nokia 3330 has five games preloaded (Bumper, Snake II, Pairs II, Space Impact and Bantumi), with Bumper being the additional game the 3330 has over the 3310. You can download more from the Nokia Web site via the WAP feature as and when these become available. The screen is thankfully large enough to play on; however there is no way to change/modify the contrast/ brightness of the screen. The display layout is supposed to adjust automatically for best viewing. The keys are sufficiently spaced apart to prevent punching in the wrong numbers. Despite this, I have found it difficult to distinguish the "5" "home" key from its neighbors if you are trying to key in a number without looking at the screen. As with all of Nokia's latest phones, there's predictive text input which makes life a lot easier for the SMS users. This means you only have to press each key with the letter that you want once. As you continue to spell out the word, the system tries to guess which word you want and displays it accordingly. No more pressing the "1" key three times just to get the letter "c". Fortunately, the predictive text feature also works with a reminder function where you can key in sufficient details of your appointments so you won't have to scratch your head days later wondering what you meant when you keyed in the appointment. Unfortunately, each reminder note is limited to only 35 characters. Another must-have for the younger set is, of course, ringtones. The 3330 has a choice of 35 ringtones and the capacity to store another seven self-composed tunes. This phone also features the new "vibrate-then-ring" option. You can set the phone to vibrate before ringing when you receive a call, which is handy if you don't want your ringtone of, say, The Final Countdown blasting off during a meeting. Nokia has also, rather ingeniously, put the vibra feature to use in another way--the phone vibrates whenever you get blasted by aliens in Space Impact or when you tilt the pinball machine in Bumper. Anybody can surely get a buzz out of this feature. Other standard features include voice dialing for eight names, picture messaging (Not MMS) and an assigned phone setting which you can customize. You also have a selection of 10 optional changeable faceplates to pick from. What I really couldn't figure out for the life of me is that for a phone with several clock features such as alarm, stopwatch and countdown timer, it doesn't display the date. But that, I believe is just a minor fallout. There is the optional multi-voltage travel charger and handsfree earpiece and mike, but what is really good is the optional speaker phone kit for use in a car. No more fumbling with thos darn earpieces or having it drop out in the middle of a conversation while you are on the driver's seat. Sound quality is good as is reception despite the phone having a hidden antenna. The owner's manual does warn against placing your fingers on the area of the antenna (at the Nokia label on the back). As such, one must take care how one holds the phone when exchanging SMS messages. It is usually argued that mobiles with built-in antenna heat up quickly but I did not encounter this problem. The Lithium-ion battery will give you up to 4 hours 15 minutes of talktime and a maximum of 245 hours on standby, depending on your service provider. If one were to ask me for feature to feature, which one would I prefer:3310 or 3330, I'd say go with the 3330 and forget about its younger brother. The 3330 has those cute animated screensavers, more memory for your phonebook (100 more names) and that very useful vibrate-then-ring alert. I guess that is enough said. |

The first thing to note about this phone is that it is almost identical to the Nokia 3310. One of the main differences is the fact that the 3330 has WAP capabilities. The phone is physically the same shape as the 3310 and so the swapable covers can be used on both handsets. Features include animated 'screensavers', voice activated dialing and vibrating battery (which can be set to vibrate before ringing useful for quiet places.) It has the usual Nokia predictive text and has a couple of new games along with the classic 'snake' Overall this is a good phone, with 100 sim and 100 phone memory slots for numbers, it should suit most people, but it is getting on a bit in age now especially with the new color screen phones starting to appear. |
