Which phones can receive ringtones and logo's?
If your mobile phone model is not listed on our compatability page, Keep-Talking's Mobile Media does not currently support it. Please note that the 5110 CANNOT receive ringtones. There are a number of factors that can affect whether your phone will work. Firstly you need to make sure that your phone is able to receive ringtones. If your phone is not compatible you may get the following message on the screen: "Message cannot be read" No harm will be done to your mobile phone, you just need to delete the message as you would with any other text message. The message can sometimes appear on phones that are capable of receiving ringtones, but because the network does not support the special text messages required for ringtones it is rejected.

How do I use the ringtone or logo once it has arrived?

Once this special message has arrived on your mobile phone, a message will be displayed on the phone screen saying "New Ringtone/Logo Received". You can either save this directly to your phone (press options > Save) or if you prefer it is possible to listen/view first (press options > playback/view).

In order to activate your new ringtone you need to locate the profiles or options menu on your phone and select your new ringtone as the one the phone should use.

It is only possible to store one ringtone on some phones see your user guide, so if you download a new ringtone it will replace any that you have previously downloaded.

My new ringtone has arrived but the phone still plays the old one?

In order to activate your new ringtone you need to locate the profiles or options menu on your phone and select your new ringtone as the one the phone should use. This will generally be found under the "Ringing Tone" menu item within the profile you have chosen.

Most users select the "General" profile and you need to remember that if you select another profile you will also have the change the ringtone to the one you have downloaded.

There are several different types of logos - what are they?

There are four different types of logo messages that you can choose from:
Operator Graphics:
Operator Graphic replacement: - where the existing operator icon (typically text such as Network) is replaced with a Logo or picture.
NOTE: Once a logo has been replaced it is not possible for the user to revert back to their original logo without a special message being sent to the phone.

Group Graphics:
Group Graphic pictures: - pictures can be assigned to phone numbers on some models. When that number calls and it is recognized the graphic will appear on the screen.

Picture Messages:
Pure Picture messages: - The ability to send messages which include a picture from one mobile phone user to another. This is supported by the latest Nokia phones (e.g. Nokia 3330& 8310) and allows users to send a picture (graphical image) and some text to another user.

Animated ScreenSavers:
Screen Saver Pictures: - Picture Messages from this site can also be used as screen savers on the new Nokia 3330. The 3330 screen saver feature is based on the Nokia Picture Message format. Any received Picture Message can be displayed as screen saver. The timer for the screen saver can be set to 5sec.-10min, meaning that when the 3330 has been idle or inactive for this user-defined length of time, the screen saver is activated. These days PCs have screen savers, but we expect this to migrate to mobile phones too, and the Nokia 3310 is the first and so far the only phone to allow this.

Please Check Compatability for a list of Phones that can receive Animated Screensavers

What is a Operator Graphic?

Your Nokia phone will normally display the name of the Network to which you are connected on the screen at all times. With the Operator Graphic service your phone can be sent a graphic to display instead of this normal text. This allows you to identify your phone at a glance. Your phone will display "Operator Graphic received". Select "Options" and "View" to see the image, then "Save" to store the image on your phone. From now on, your phone will display this graphic.

What is a Group Graphic?

Some Nokia phones allow you to associate people listed in your Phone Book with groups, for example, all friends may go into one group. You can associate an image with each of these caller groups, so that when a member of the group calls, that image will appear on your screen. We send the requested image as a text message to your phone and you should see the message "Group Graphic Received". Select "Options" then "View" to see the graphic. Then use the "Save" option to store it. Your mobile phone will ask you which of your caller groups you wish to associate the image with.

How do I use the logo message once it has arrived?

Once the picture message has arrived on your mobile phone, a message will be displayed on the phone screen saying "New Picture Message" or "New Operator Graphic". You can either save this directly to your phone (press options / save) or if you prefer it is possible to view the picture message first (press options / view).

My new operator logo has arrived but in keeps disappearing?

The operator logos replace the existing name that was on your phone. If your phone is in an area of bad coverage or is out of coverage completely the new logo will temporarily disappear. Once you come back into coverage your logo should re-appear.

Another reason for a logo not to be shown on the screen is if you are "roaming" on an overseas network. Because the logo contains a special code that associates it with the home network that you phone is connected to, it will only be displayed when you are using that network.

What setting do I have to have on my phone to download Animated Screensavers via wap from Keep-Talking?

Please input the following setting into your mobile phone, this will connect you to the animated screensavers menu, from there you will be able to collect your item.

Some service providers in UK including orange; have limited the bandwidth on their wap service, this means that you might be experiencing problems and no images showing on your phone, if this is the case then we advise you to change your settings to the following:

If you are setting up on a Ericsson T68 or Ericsson T68i you need to set up a new data account press joystick, go to connect, then data comm., then data accounts, then add account you then enter the same as wap basically except it asks for the phone number too.
